THANK YOU SO MUCH, INDIAN LAND CIRCLE K!!!
We are so appreciative of this gesture! Whether it's a tank of gas or some snacks to keep us happy on our road trip, our staff will head into summer with an extra pep in their step thanks to you!

Mr. Miller (nope - not that one! 😂) visited Ms. Tomy’s class to inspire students and help them learn what it means to be a writer.
She writes: “A big thank you to Mr. Ian Miller from Ms. Tomy’s 5th grade ELA class! It was a great honor for our students to have the opportunity to hear from a published author. On Friday, we were truly inspired by Mr. Ian Miller, author of The Hunted Will Hunt, during our fantasy novel study.
Mr. Miller, your words were insightful and motivating, and we were deeply enriched by hearing you guide us through the creative writing process. We wish you all the best in your writing career and hope to one day see your name alongside legendary fantasy writers such as J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling, and Brandon Sanderson.
Thank you again for inspiring us and sharing your journey with our class!”
You’re awesome, Mr. Miller! We truly appreciate the time and effort you took to speak with our students!

Resharing! Please don't forget to read this important update from Nurse Leslie!

FITKids Update:

Still celebrating these incredible Warriors!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday, Warriors! Ms. Garrison, 6th grade ELA Teacher, is back with another awesome lesson she did with her students.
She writes: “To review for SC Ready, I made a cryptid themed set of review materials based on benchmark results and the state standards. Students have reviewed test-taking strategies, practiced writing TDWs, and played review games with fun, cryptid-themed passages, questions, and games.
One of the games required students to answer questions to get clues so they could figure out which desk was the seat of the secret classroom cryptid. All answer choices had a clue, but only correct answers had a clue that helped them find the secret cryptid’s desk.
Another game was a combination of Jeopardy and Guess Who where students worked in groups and answered questions to earn interrogation tokens, which were used to ask the only witness about what they saw destroy Mr. Miller's office. Students used the witness's answers to eliminate suspects from a list until they found the culprit.
Today, students played their third and final review game, which was based on the game Battleship, and this time I was able to get some pictures! Students had to take turns answering questions to get to guess the location of their opponent's hidden cryptids. We have had so much fun reviewing for SC Ready this year!”
So, so cool. And thank you for sharing with us, Ms. Garrison!

We want to wish Nurse Leslie and her assistant, Addison, a very happy National School Nurse’s Day! We are so grateful to have these incredible women caring for our students each and every day. From bumps and bruises to daily medications, they are busy from the moment they arrive until the end of the day!
More than 1,200 students know they can count on their compassion, kindness, and genuine care. They work tirelessly to ensure every child is healthy, supported, and ready to have the best day possible.
We cannot thank Nurse Leslie and her assistant, Addison, enough for all they do for our Warriors!

We are throwing it back to earlier in the Spring when Ms. Goodwin's class had an EPIC Geode project!
She writes: "Sixth graders have been learning about rocks, minerals, plate tectonics, and the different forces that change Earth's surface. Last week, my class had an activity day where they got to spend half the class busting and examining geodes to learn more about rocks and minerals. The second half of the class was spent using Oreo cookies to model what happens at the different types of tectonic plate boundaries. At the end of the activity, students got to eat their plate boundary Oreos. I think the kids and I agree that it was such a fun day!"
What a great project, Ms. Goodwin! We love all the ways you make learning fun!

Final Reminder:

In a building filled with the very best, selecting recipients for Staff Member of the Year, Beginning Teacher of the Year, and Teacher of the Year is no easy task. However, this year’s honorees are truly deserving of this recognition and so much more for all they contribute to Indian Land Intermediate School.
We gathered as a school community in the gym, with their families waiting just behind the scenes, to celebrate Kaleigh Possinger (Staff Member of the Year), Hannah Anderson (Beginning Teacher of the Year), and Laura Healey (Teacher of the Year) for the 2025–2026 school year.
We are honored to have Ms. Possinger, Ms. Anderson, and Ms. Healey as part of our Warrior team. Congratulations!

Sharing this again as a friendly reminder to our families! School ends a month from today!

FITKids 26-27' Registration will open during the week of Open House. You can print off paperwork and bring it to Open House, which we anticipate will be July 30th, 2026.

Today is the day! THANK YOU for your support!

Tomorrow is the big day! Do you work close by? Are you at home during the day? You can treat yourself to Greek Grill and Handles all day long!
In fact, if you take the family for dinner, no one has to know you treated yourself for lunch. 🤫😂
Just mention ILIS when you order and a portion of proceeds will go back to PTO. Thank you so much!
