Bus Information:

A message from LANCASTER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Attention All Bus Parents:

Please read the important information below about bus transportation for school year 2020-21.

The presence of Covid-19 across our county, state and country have mandated that we make numerous changes to our operating procedures in an effort to protect the safety of our students and staff members. One of these changes is the recommendation by the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) that all buses be reduced by 50 percent of the listed capacity. If we were to route our buses from the bus registrations received prior to June 21, 2020, the information would be incorrect and cause many problems for us when school begins.

To meet this recommendation of reduction of bus capacity we are asking parents who desire bus transportation in August to:

Re-register each child by completing the online Bus Passenger Registration Form (see link below).

You will receive an email acknowledging the receipt of the registration once it's submitted. We will be using bus registrations received beginning June 22, 2020 to route our buses for when school starts. Any bus registrations received before June 22 will be obsolete. Specific bus information regarding times and bus assignments will be published by August 10.

Also, because of state changes the school district is not planning to offer bus transportation for the Arts Focus Program.

Bus Passenger Registration for school year 2020-21

Before bus service can be established for next school year you must complete a bus passenger registration form for each child. The process is quick and easy. You can use a tablet, smart phone, laptop or a desktop to complete the form.

Bell Schedule

The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has recommended that all buses be reduced by 50 percent of the listed capacity. In order for our district to meet this recommendation of reduction of capacity we are proposing to the superintendent a bell schedule as follows:

Andrew Jackson area schools

Elementary schools will operate from 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Middle school will operate from 8:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

High school will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Buford area schools

Elementary school will operate from 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Middle school will operate from 8:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

High school will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Indian Land area schools

Elementary schools will operate from 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Middle school will operate from 8:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

High school will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Lancaster area schools

Elementary schools will operate from 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Middle schools will operate from 8:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

High school will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*The shifts in times allows us more time to increase routes to compensate for lost seating capacity. Without these changes 50% of elementary students and 33% of middle / high students who utilize bus transportation will be displaced.
